Welcome aboard and fell free to add the missing bits of information we are missing and that you might have in your collection!

The OSD is the same as the VPS-3800 I have (also no remote), and you should be able to control everything you desire using the buttons on the front of the unit. The main thing is you will need to look at the screen attached to your C2 while navigating the menu. Below is the web address where you can find the user's manual. Page 55 of the manual shows how to navigate to the OSD. Per page 56 of the manual, the OSD is the same as using the remote. Starting on page 57, all of the OSD options are outlined.

In short, use the buttons on the front of the unit to select LCD display options by selecting System ---> System Info ----> OSD Control ----> OSD will be displayed on the attached screen/monitor.

From there you can edit items as per the manual. A link to the download of the manual is below.

Hopefully this helps.

Haven't had the chance to test the discs yet.
But will do tomorrow.

It seems to be some kind of chemical reaction with the plastic coating of the disc.
It must have come in contact with some sort of material that caused the plastic coating of the disc to react like this.

We'll see how it plays tomorrow

Laserdiscs are tricky to photograph as they are so reflective but if its only on the surface Novus 1 Polish should be able to clean that mist off and it will be as good as new. I've found a layer of mist forms on LDs if they have been left in polylined bags for many years without being taken out. You often seen this on sealed stock that is decades old. Most likely some form of gas given off by the plastic which results in a buildup of particles on the surface of the disc. Also happened with some EMI Swindon CDs from the 90's and they could be polished as well and were fine.

Get a tray from a CLD-D503/D704/D704/53/79/99 and break-out the inner most ring and it will work fine, just put the S9/X9 front on it. These trays last longer than the brown colored S9/X9 trays.
