I thought the True HD was associated with HD DVD. Maybe that's why its not seen very often now.

Perhaps you are thinking of Dolby Digital +? That was very much associated with HD-DVD.

No i was right True HD was on HD DVDs. I remember that being one of the tag lines for selling the HD DVD - True HD pictue True HD sound.

This was marketing hype for HD-DVD. It was "True HD Sound" but not specifically referencing the Dolby TrueHD codec. Most HD-DVD titles used Dolby Digital Plus. You would get the occasional title that would use Dolby TrueHD too. And a handful would DTS-HD, but I don't recall any that used DTS-HDMA.

Bought a new blu ray yesterday, The Who Quadrophenia; Live in London. It contained both DTS HDMA and Dolby Truhd. I have seen each one on different discs but this is the first time I have seen both hi def codecs on one disc.

By the way, think the DTS hdma won out slightly over Dolby Truhd. Still, nothing wrong with either one. Both sound terrific on a good system.
