.....wwwwwhhhhhyyyyyyy!??!?!?!

The commentary is slightly different in this one than in the offically-released one. I'll have to check, but I think that there is a difference is supplements, as well.

Not a good enough reason. It's not as silly as the $250 copy of Ransom (DTS) but its rather insane.

Babs wanted one or two lines in her Criterion commentary changed. Thus, a new pressing. It happened with the original analog release of Yentl too - Pioneer was set to ship and she made them repress it to increase the audio level by, get this, 1 db. Due to her contracts, she had that right and Pioneer had to destroy several thousand discs. Both Video Magazine and Video Review reported on it since the discs were delayed by about a month. None on the "defective" 1db lower audio pressings ever made it to market.

looks like it was listed at a lower price then someone warned the seller to ask more. if you read the q&a you can see the conversation.

Yes, this is correct. It was originally listed for $75.

What a scatterbrained oblivious yenta she was...Pioneer should have had language in their licensing contract to prevent that kind of acquiescence. Her initial approval date of the product should have been final. And there isn't any kind of artistic defence on Streisand's part. Maybe if they were going to release a blockbuster title where they could afford that kind of waste and still make big bucks. But Prince of Tides was no blockbuster, and forcing a withdrawal of product because of two lines and 1db borders on megalomania on her part.

It's also worth noting that the "released" version is pressed by Technidisc. The un-released edition was 3M. If that makes any difference to anyone.
