I received the Evita box set in today's mail which was the last of the Criterion LD I needed to complete my collection. While I don't have every single edition, I have a least one version of every movie they released, usually the CAV.

I initially got into this format in 2002 to be able to watch the theatrical cut of Blade Runner and for the Orson Welles Othello and Magnificent Ambersons movies not available on DVD. Feels good to finally complete the collection after 10 years.

First: Blade Runner CLV
Last: Evita
Favorite: Olympia I & II
Most Difficult to get: Evergreen

cool!!
first one that my father bought was bladerunner CLV, but that was back around 1989 after we got the player.
always love the Criterion LDs, not as happy with their DVDs.

i've been trying to pickup some of the CAV stuff and early silver packages.
i have the 2 different issues of king kong in CAV and both box sets are different and really cool.
one day i'll post a picture.

Nice!

I've only got one: "Supercop".

I'm going for the Hi-Vision full set myself

It is cool when you complete a set like that.

I've only four Criterion LDs at the moment:
Robinson Crusoe on Mars: Criterion #184 (1964)
This Is Spinal Tap: Special Edition: Criterion #238 (1984)
Trainspotting: Special Edition: Criterion #325 (1996)
Chasing Amy: Special Edition: Criterion #360 (1997)

I'll be adding some more when I get a chance although my main focus is still music LDs.

Impressive! Criterion is the main reason why I collect Laserdiscs and put higher worth in it than DVD/Blu-Ray. :)

Congratulations

I have one movie that is Criterion Collection and that is Time Bandits. Its a pretty nice edition. I will buy a few more movies that are Criterion but I stick to the ones that I want =)

This is my goal collecting LDs. I really wanna get at least one copy of each movie. I'm currently sitting around 60 criterion titles on LD. I know I got a ways to go but thankfully laserdiscs are pretty cheap here in LA California, being that I don't spend more than $2-5 a criterion movie.

I'm mainly getting ones that aren't on DVD or they are just cheaper on LD. I have some editions like Brazil on every formate just because I like Brazil.

here's what I have so far

Would you recommend the Brazil Boxset, even it´s still expensive ?I´m thinking of buying this one. What I don´t like about Criterion, It´s too bad they don´t have CC on their discs..

I haven't watched it yet but I would assume it would be like the DVD boxset that I have and I liked that. I believe it also has the other cut and other nice extras so that's important to you get the boxset.

I wish I can find the regular non boxset in the US but I can't for some reason.

The Brazil boxset is great. The video quality is very good. It's been a while since I watched it, but I remember it being of my better looking LDs.

I do have them all lined up in two Ikea 4 cubbie shelves, similar to their Expedit series.

I'll see what I can do about posting a photo. I think I still have a photobucket account that I can link too.

Definitely jump around. I've already seen most of them over the 10+ years I have been collecting them.
