So you've got an HLD-X0 by now? That's very nice. I'd easily buy one of them if I was still into Laserdisc. :)

Well not yet. The player is still with GErman Customs and I have a feeling they will be causing quite a lot of trouble and I will probably still
have to pay a tidy sum of money. Besides it was only today I realized that the player has no CE symbol. This might mean that they the player
might actually be sent back to Manila lol Well at least I already got the discs, the remote control and the non-working MUSE decoder.

There's an HLD-X0 and a MSC-4000hv for sale nearby...

The man is asking 3100euro
The best thing about it.... He doesn't own muse discs  :o
I was invited to come see the machine in action but I don't want to waste that man's time altough I would like to see it in action to be honnest :shh:
he bought it brand new back in the day for superior "standard" LD playback.
Mailed me pictures of the actual player. Appears to be in collector's condition. not one blemmisch

I can't justify that amount of money for it sadely. I've been  about getting it but.... it's just too much IMHO

Well I finally got the player and step-down-converter ( 110 V ) working.

I am very pleased with the player. The NTSC playback quality is excellent. Wow ! I think the picture is even better than DVD on some of the discs
I tried ( Toy Story, Janet Jackson video collection from 1996 etc. ) However I had problems with one disc ( Fantasia - Japanese CLV release ). Towards
the end of side 2 the playback was getting choppier, video and audio dropouts but I tried the disc on my other player ( CLD-925 ) and the problems weren't there.
I am not worried though because all the other discs I tried were working fine and the video quality was truly astonishing.

I could not try the MUSE part yet. The decoder I got is not working. Sound is working fine but no video. We tried everytrhing we could but it isn't working.
I have 6 MUSE discs now. This is not a real problem. I can wait.

Only thing I don't like is the missing turning mechanism. But besides that it is a beautiful player.

I had similar issues on my HLD-X9 that was more sensitive to slightly warped discs than my LD-S9.

Strange Days DTS (1995) [0893984] would skip and freeze starting around 40:00 but would play normally on LD-S9.
After flattening it for a while, the X9 was able to play it normally again.
