This is a straightforward MUSE/NTSC player. The "HDVS" logo does not mean that it plays the "baseband" discs. It was used across all kinds of Sony consumer & professional 1125-line equipment, including the MSC-3000 which is sitting here on my desk.

Currently I have, working, besides the MSC-3000, an MST-2000 and a Panasonic TU-AHD100N, which is a full-featured audio-video processor. I also have a second, non-working, AHD100N, & a non-working Victor HV-VMD1. I really want to get a Pioneer MUSE player for variety, but I missed out on a YHJ auction for a HLD-V700 (which does not play back NTSC) some weeks back.

This is great stuff. Thanks a lot. I just downloaded all the files and they are a great read. Wow. I like the X0 brochure a lot !

The HDL 2000 apparently needed 350W !!! That's crazy.

Thanks for sharing all this.
I've only seen the MUSE 95/96 so far, thanks to Julien, all the others links are dead.

I've got the .zip-file with equipment from Sony, Pioneer etc. Don't know where to upload it but I can send it through email if anyone wants it.

I got everything, & if necessary, I can strip out the Mac-specific elements, re-archive, & post somewhere.

Got all the stuff archived into one, except the pictures of the HDVS discs. Missed that one, sorry. I deleted the mac folders as well.

BTW - I put all my brochures up for sale on eBay. They can go to the next good home.

Here's one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301815617923?ss ... 1555.l2649

But I've listed the MUSE catalogs, the HDVS catalog, the Sony player brochures, the NEC fish brochures, and the Pioneer HLD-X9 and X0 brochures for anyone that wants them. Just click "see other items"

Yesterday I acquired the operational manual for my Sony HDM-3830 (very early professional HDVS CRT monitor) and I'll try to scan the entire document in order to make a PDF-file out of it. It's over 200 pages and contains lots of interesting info on the monitor among with its components, different measurements, diagrams etc. so it may be of interest for anyone into HDVS in general?

MUSE Hi-Vision looked amazing on that monitor (I used to own one).

Really?! When did you have it and where did you get it from? I got mine through an audio engineer at a Swedish broadcast company. Supposedly there was another identical monitor and a 2830 here too but both are trashed. And Sweden is a very small company.

I mainly watch Blu-Rays on mine but it's also optimal for Sega Dreamcast.

Hello,

Found this site while perusing MUSE LDs (which I do from time to time), and interesting to see people are still into MUSE LD. I stopped collecting (and liquidated) about 10 years ago, but I began collecting in the late 90s, and amassed a substantial collection. Everything from the regular releases, to demo discs, to the NEC Fish Club format, and even had some HDVS discs (which aren't Hi-Vision of course).

I amassed quite a collection of photos, brochures, etc. and was intent on building a website as a central MUSE resource, but never got around to it. With this group active, I figured I'll find a way to spread out what I have. Unfortunately my files are too large, so for now, I've got them on a file transfer service.

First up: MUSE Hi-Vision catalogs (PDF format) from 1995 and 1996. Download link is here: http://we.tl/Wezd4a1LRc

If there's continued interest I'll either put more up or if someone wants to host, send to them on the stipulation that they make it available to everyone here.

Another MUSE collector (former) I noticed still has the "reviews" I did of MUSE LD discs from over a decade ago, and over time, I'll release not only MUSE Hi-Vision, but what I have for HDVS as well as NEC Fish Club (which was HI-Vision based). Maybe I'll even share the story of 'cleaning' out Sony Pictures in Culver City who had dozens of brand new Hi-Vision discs of Sony movies (save your breath - I do not have these anymore).

I think, back in the day, you mailed me this info. Printed all in color and still have it in storage. Also have 2 HDVS disc's Paris and Okinawa. Don't have a player for these..

Thanks for sharing!

Since the download isn't available there and someone kindly put it somewhere else but as a 127M ZIP file, I put them all in the same repository:
