I don't see why it wouldn't have come out.

I assume its a typical serial control program that would work on any "pro" deck. The cable is probably just a DB9 on the end and the cart contains the program and a serial interface combined.

I don't know if this exact product was released, but many like it were or were custom made for applications in trade shows, museums, etc, all over the world for decades. They are extremely simple programs that almost anyone could write.

The LD700 through CLD-909/LD-V2000 or so have a proprietary control port.

And except for the S1 it has a full range RF output, so you can do a mod-less AC3 connection with the right circuit.

Since I couldn't find any more info about it I wasn't sure. Hard to tell if it was vaporware or just not well documented.

I don't believe it ever did.

There were other Laserdisc to computer units out there. I remember one for the Atari ST that allowed you to play Dragon's Lair, however, not as an action game. You used text commands like a text adventure, and then the action would play out on screen. Not "turn left", but actual sentences and stuff.

There was another unit in Europe that I believe was for the Amiga (and maybe ST), sold on eBay from time to time, with actual arcade lasersdiscs like Thayers Quest, Firefox, Dragons Lair, Space Ace, etc.

Looks like they laid off a quarter of their staff less about a year later, not too encouraging

I remember the interface, it was for ST and Amiga (maybe even other machines) and there was a big test spanning several pages in a german computer magazine which also included a flyer about LD players and available movies. The magazine was called "ASM" and would test games for all systems back at that time. Maybe 1990/1991ish. Later I met someone who owned that system and had bought it together with a Pioneer player (a PAL only player). He still had the floppy disks for Thayer's Quest and Dragon's Lair, but the interface was no longer to be found.

That sounds a great deal like the abortive RDI Halcyon.

Yep, except without the price tag.
