I recently bought a VHD that was not in the Database. I submitted it and it's now listed.

"Yuki no Dansho- jonetsu" (1985-Japanese)
("Lost Chapter of Snow - Passion")

http://www.lddb.com/vhd/01173/TVDV-1001 ... etsu-(1985)

The caddy sleeve still has it's shrinkwrap, but it was not sealed when I bought it. The thing is this, and that's the sticker affixed to the shrinkwrap. It appears to be some sort of promotional campaign, but other than that I can't figure out what it means. As purely a guess I'd say that maybe for every 10 titles purchased you'd get another title for free. But that's just me making a wild guess, based on a similar promotion the Camelot chain had going here back in the day. Can anyone help me please?

P.S. The disc plays perfectly and looks and sounds very good for being an analog format.

As you might guess
The third anniversary
Campaign to free one disc(title) When you purchase 10 discs(titles).

VHD is no longer possible to see rare even in Japan.
There is valuable items but it is know,
Feel that it is seated in place fit.

Thanks for the info!

As for rarity, RecoBanchou routinely has 800 or more VHDs in stock. I just placed an order for more from them.
RecoBanchou
http://www.urabanchou.com/

As for the players, there are alot of them for sale on Amazon's Japanese site. Common are players from National (Panasonic) and Victor (JVC). I have a National player and am very happy with it.

They are rare in the U.S. however, because the format was only released in Japan and it costs a fortune to ship something of that weight from Japan.

STAY AWESOME! :)

Could it be that RecoBanchou (aka Disc Legend) has considerably less VHDs available nowadays?

I only find a small handful of them on their current website (http://www.disclegend.com).
Or maybe I just don't know how to find them?

I will be forever annoyed that I checked Recobancho one day to see if they still had some VHDs I wanted to order, which they did. I went back 2 days later to MAKE the order and the site was closed! The main title was Dead Heat, which I have not managed to track down again. Anime titles are mega hard to come by. I still have hopes that I will be able to get Dead Heat, SCOOPERS and the VHD exclusive Matsumoto Leiji titles one day. As I mentioned in another thread, I may be better off with VHS copies! Dead Heat and SCOOPERS are must haves on VHD though, because they are 3-D which elevates them above the VHS versions.

Does any one know of another site that sells VHD titles? They are quite rare on yahoo.

Disclord once told me that VHD is considered junk in Japan. I have never seen any VHDs for sale while I was in Japan last time. Not a single one but I did see plenty of LDs, VHS tapes, records for sale.

Well, laserdiscs are considered junk too. I found most LDs under the "junk" category at Hard Off. When I spoke with people they always were surprised and wondered why on earth anyone would want to use those big bulky old things. "leezadisku???"
