I wouldn't mind that title myself. I wouldn't be surprised if its less then a dozen still exist. A japanese family must have saved it for 30 years by now, but I guess some parent might save all their kids stuff if they got space. Would be cool to know what kind of home they come from if they turn up.

BTW, they must have loved the Super rock 84-85 in Japan, hehe. The japanese Monsters of Rock =)

The problem is most people don't collect items these days. It is disposable society we live in. You just need to take a trip to your local dump site and see the dozens of skips filled with books, videotapes, compact discs, CRT TV's etc. Also space is the last thing in Japan they have....most homes in Japan are tiny compared with European or US standards so space is at an absolute premium. My Dio VHD will never be sold by me. Whoever inherits my collection will get it along with the rest of my massive music library - hope it goes to someone who will appreciate it because it took a lifetime to assemble.

Yes those Super Rock concerts were popular. I have at least one of those on VHD - Whitesnake Super Rock '84, all the laserdiscs available and also the Super Rock '85 on VHS as well as it didn't get released on laserdisc!

Finally got round to watching some of the VHDs I own after purchasing a VHD player from Japan recently.
I went for one of the last models ever produced. It actually looks quite modern for a VHD player.

Its a SHARP VP-R20B:

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sharp ... oqXWlg0%3D

It supports 3D titles (of which I've several) and also has a Karaoke function.
I've got a separate 3D scope for it which works with any 3D compatible VHD player.

It was great getting a chance to watch the Dio concert that was only ever released on VHD and not laserdisc.
Plays fine still even after all these years.

I'm curious, how does the PQ compare to LD?

From what I've read CED is only on par with the VHS of that era but as I understand it VHD is much superior.

Picture quality isn't as good as laserdisc assuming the laserdisc has no rot, however most of the titles I bought on VHD either don't exist on laserdisc or were known rotters on laserdisc so still great to be able to watch them at all.

I've noticed some discs plays with a few flickers from VHD while others don't.
I assume this is due to wear and tear on the actual discs if some were played more than others.
