Post subject:  Blank tapes D-VHS vs S-VHS?

I have 3x S-VHS players at home.
I do lots of recordings from tv when I can't watch certain shows.
I only use blank S-VHS tapes.

I wonder if I could make tv-recordings using blank D-VHS tapes on my S-VHS player?
If it's possible, recordings must be even better with D-VHS tapes rather than using S-VHS blank tapes on my player?

S-VHS blank tapes had a pre-drilled hole underneath the tape for S-video.
Is there something similar with D-VHS blank tapes having a pre-drilled hole at the bottom of the tape?

I've read that you can use D-VHS to record S-VHS on an S-VHS VCR.

This page says as much with the recognition holes:

It's just that not too many people would want to since D-VHS blanks are much more expensive than S-VHS blanks!

that was a great link with info.
thanks
I didn't know that D-VHS had twin recognition holes where S-VHS only used one hole.

on eBay there are used JVC HR-DM1000 D-VHS players for sale, these players are a lot chunkier than S-VHS players.
are wear n tear parts like rubber pinch roller and other parts like tape break stop still available for D-VHS players?
these parts are common wear items

That I couldn't tell you. Might want to go to JVC's websites for that.

found this site JVC - USA, doesn't say anything about replacement parts, only info about different players?
where to look for parts availability?
