Actually there is no "load time" on LD, CED, VHD, Beta, VHS and alike analog media. Later players have digital TBC and 4 frame digital buffer for it. So the so called "load time" is 1/15th of a second:)

On another note, I think I am the only one who is still into HD-DVD. I just purchased a dozen more imports and rare demo discs. Buying lots result in many duplicates but this is good, I can have many back up discs. I am in no rush but I think within 5 years I can have a complete US released HD-DVD collection(with many duplicate back ups) with over a 100 imports.

I'd still buy some HD-DVD's, but those titles never show up anywhere, and I am not exactly looking for them either.
It would be mostly anime that I don't have yet. All imports :P

Yea I don't yet sweat too much either. In the end when I have only a handful titles missing, I will be more motivated to spend more money and time looking but I am far from there yet. I made myself a rule, only buy titles I can understand (english subs). Most of the imports don't have English audio or subs which is a relief in my case because those are rarer:)

Aren't most HD-DVDs imports in general? Half of my HD-DVDs are foreign releases, and were sold in stores like that. Everything is movies that have English audio, but are missing the appropriate subtitles. Guess this is the reason they went with the region restriction route on BD, to avoid imports from all over the world.

For Norway maybe, in Germany we had a lot of domestic releases.
Same can be said for USA: Many domestic releases.

We did get quite some HD-DVDs in Sweden considering how short lived it was.

Of the 100 or so HD-DVDs I have, there are like 5 UK releases, 5 Swedish, 10 Norwegian, 15 Nordic releases and the rest is USA releases. Not exact numbers, but something like that. The releases that are not Norwegian/Nordic have the censorship information put on as a sticker. Most of them had it on the shrink wrap and is missing now, though.

My issue is im a huge hd dvd fan but it had been awhile since I watched them. Tons of warner titles and tons of them don't work. Whats upsetting is almost all my warner titles where purchased brand new and even then they still suffer problems. Base case scarino is they only freeze up once badly when switching layers, but most of the time they just don't work.

Also I don't know what cases this, but a ton of my disk have this greesy feel even thought I never touch them and always take care of everything I own. I've got tons of old LD work fine and yet s a format from 05 has tons of failing issues. The players don't last and the disk don't last.
