Blade Runner: 5-Disc Complete Collectors Edition (1982) (Uncut)
[118573]

My previous 5 disc set of disc 3 of Blade Runner was faulted with scratches and I tried to sort of buff them out but it was hopeless so I got another cheap used 5 disc set where's disc 3 plays fine and will be handled with extreme care!

I have this set too, and my disc #1 is a rotter and freezes at around 4 minutes.

Check pm

Sorry about that. I've not tried disc 1 or the other discs yet as the extras I can see on youtube for free. Its the theatrical/international film I'm after.

Does this mean all the pressings of Blade Runner HD-DVD have technical disc rot faults? How many pressings have been reported.

I've got the Scandinavian release and it's a rotter. There's no point in getting it now though since it's available on Blu-Ray (and hopefully UHD-BD as well in time for its sequel).

I'm wondering if the players don't have an, up to date firmware? Or if maybe my player isn't as good to maintaining the data on the disc though to decoding it in stable way?

I'll get a old cheap firmware disc and see if that works or not? Or get another cheap HD-DVD player. I see they made a few combo-players HD-DVD/bluray near to late 2007.

Personally I had much more issues with the older firmwares than the newer ones. My HD-A1 didn't play any discs at all until I got 4.0 installed to it.
