Training Day (2001) HD-DVD German import
US import seems to be a Warner rotter with freezing up and pixels.
The German import seems to be playing smoothly. Pity it doesn't support Dolby trueHD, but the Dolby Digital Plus is fine with fine picture/colour detail.
One small glitch cropped up on chapter 25 that had brief pause then when resumed I noticed muted sound. Okay eject and check disc surface. I see a smug on the disc. Okay clean it with tissue and water wiped in circular motion and dried water off and tried it again played fine.
I guess all Warner bros HD-DVD tiles have to be treated as rotters or possible rotter candidates. But so far it has played and I'll give it a second playing to see how it goes?
