One of my favorites from the vault is "Screamers" also based on a short story by world renowned sci-fi guru Phillip K. Dick ! There ya go ! 10-4 on those 3. I have 2001 on LD, CED and HD-DVD, A Boy and His Dog on VHS and Screamers on LD. All are good to watch on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Other good Sci-Fi's would be Blade Runner, Alien and Forbidden Planet (a classic).

A classic cheesy sci fi flick, I love it. Another fun space film is the Last Starfighter!

Dark Star looks like a good laugh so will give it a go. I have all 4 LD's of the Alien series. I saw Alien in the theater with a cousin of mine. He nearly freaked out. Dark star is the first DVD that I bought years ago. It was a student film made by John Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon. It definitely is a hoot to watch. Logan's Run, Barbarella and Solaris are good films also. Barbarella is an early work for Jane Fonda and Solaris is an early work of George Clooney.

I prefer the original but I have to admit that the remake is a lot more accessible (though I hated the remake ending). Good call on Barbarella! Flash Gordon is always worth checking out too, especially if you're a Queen fan.

I will self-flagilate for 2 hours for that mistake (rofl). I have not seen the original (1972 version) so I cannot make a judgement on the ending. All I know is that the movie is a weird Sci-Fi/Psychological thriller worthy of being seen. Barbarella was one of my first CED's (for what it is worth).

Barbarella was one of my first CED's (for what it is worth). No worries The original is a Russian film so I'll warn you; it makes 2001 look fast paced. I didn't like it much on first viewing but every time I've seen it since I get something new out of it. I've yet to venture into CEDs, I find them fascinating and would love to get into it but I think the missus would kill me if I brought home another dead format.
