It's a lot better than I remembered and the cast is excellent. It has a serious point to make, but doesn't descend into the male-bad-female-good stereotype that prevails elsewhere. Someone should add a review of the disc to the reviews section (hint), including a review of the commentary, which I haven't tried myself. There are plenty of copies for sale on this site for less that I'd ask for mine, including one as close as the Netherlands.

Not necessarily a miracle, but if it happens, you're pretty sure that you'll miss it Two attempts and still no joy and I came so close to owning this brand new when it was released in 2000, but due to lack of funds it never happened. You never know I won't give up hope, but in the mean time if this is released on Blu-Ray then I will purchase it. Thank you for your comments. . . . . . .If you see one come up on the auction site then let me know however I have a search saved so hopefully I should receive a notification.. . . . .It could happen

Thanks or the link so I can drool over it. $400 is a wee bit too much for me at the moment though. I wish I'd have seen the $150 one on eBay, I coulda afforded that one maybe.

hippiedalek wrote: The original grey box release of the Citizen Kane Criterion Special Edition. I saw it come up once but I was outbid. Maybe next time... That was given to me as a gift by a friend here on the forum - it was the extra large silver box too, and he got it from Amoeba Records for $1.00. It was in great condition and missing only the original Criterion info notes which I got a copy of from another website. The silver boxed Criterion's are fun to collect because they are very "DiscoVision-like" in their packaging. I wish Criterion had stayed with the silver boxes - they look much nicer and more "special" than the later package changes. And the modern Criterion BD and DVD packaging is godawful.

It probably sold well in Japan, as they're all big fans of Jean Reno. But what would you do with it if you cannot understand spoken French or read Japanese ? Same problem for PILF-2801, I don't understand Italian so I didn't even bother open my sealed copy

Just thought of another one. It's not exactly rare, but I never see it up for sale . . . Sleeping Beauty CAV. . . sure it's pan & scan (HEAVILY as it was a CinemaScope film), but I remember reading how upon the re-release of the title on LD in WS, that the colors are vastly different (as Disney is want to do--retouching colors during a remaster) from the inital release and the original film. So I want to see just how different. Unfortunately, I never see this CAV release come up for sale. The CLV release does, but not the CAV.

At least it's on DVD now (which took forever).
