Not necessarily a miracle, but if it happens, you're pretty sure that you'll miss it :P

Not even a rare one (but can't find it in England), Ridley Scott's GI Jane. Love his commentaries. That and it's a guilty pleasure.

I have that and revisited it recently. It's a lot better than I remembered and the cast is excellent. It has a serious point to make, but doesn't descend into the male-bad-female-good stereotype that prevails elsewhere.

Someone should add a review of the disc to the reviews section (hint), including a review of the commentary, which I haven't tried myself.

There are plenty of copies for sale on this site for less that I'd ask for mine, including one as close as the Netherlands.

Two attempts and still no joy and I came so close to owning this brand new when it was released in 2000, but due to lack of funds it never happened.

You never know I won't give up hope, but in the mean time if this is released on Blu-Ray then I will purchase it.

Thank you for your comments. . . . . . .If you see one come up on the auction site then let me know however I have a search saved so hopefully I should receive a notification.. . . . .It could happen :)

Thanks or the link so I can drool over it. $400 is a wee bit too much for me at the moment though. I wish I'd have seen the $150 one on eBay, I coulda afforded that one maybe.

Huh? Did I miss something? I own the three single discs of Season 1 but never heard of a LD boxset. If there is, what does it look like? I'm a b-b-b-big fan *zigzag!* :D

That was given to me as a gift by a friend here on the forum - it was the extra large silver box too, and he got it from Amoeba Records for $1.00. It was in great condition and missing only the original Criterion info notes which I got a copy of from another website. The silver boxed Criterion's are fun to collect because they are very "DiscoVision-like" in their packaging. I wish Criterion had stayed with the silver boxes - they look much nicer and more "special" than the later package changes. And the modern Criterion BD and DVD packaging is godawful.

Mine has no obi.

But I'm still glad I could find one

Is the fact that its in french one of the reasons its so rare ? Guess they couldnt export this so much as the other JAPAN ONLY titles ?

I guess so.
It probably sold well in Japan, as they're all big fans of Jean Reno.
But what would you do with it if you cannot understand spoken French or read Japanese ?

Same problem for PILF-2801, I don't understand Italian so I didn't even bother open my sealed copy :(

Just thought of another one. It's not exactly rare, but I never see it up for sale . . .

Sleeping Beauty CAV

. . . sure it's pan & scan (HEAVILY as it was a CinemaScope film), but I remember reading how upon the re-release of the title on LD in WS, that the colors are vastly different (as Disney is want to do--retouching colors during a remaster) from the inital release and the original film. So I want to see just how different.

Unfortunately, I never see this CAV release come up for sale. The CLV release does, but not the CAV.

I'm sorry. Aparently I made that up!

It would be nice though, season 2 would be nice as well. At least it's on DVD now (which took forever).

You know, there's always been a couple discs I've casually hunted for, but never even seen for sale:Dirty Harry (1971) [16746] and Lupin the 3rd: Cagliostro no Shirou (Castle of Cagliostro) (1979) [TLL 2473]
