Post subject:  Bummed about not getting "The Black Hole"
Bad day today. I was super excited to get a copy of Disney's "The Black Hole" that I won on ebay last week only to find out that the seller listed it twice by accident and thus no movie for me..... It was going to be only $8.25 (w/ shipping included)! Man I'm bummed! :cry:

Stuff happens to the best of us. I accidently listed 2 things a couple of times. To this day I dont know how I did it. Anyway, you will get it again :)

That happened to me just recently ... ordered a copy the MGM Silent Classic "Greed" ... the dealer couldn't find it in his shop (probably a double listing) and had to issue a refund. :cry: Oh well ... he did have a copy of the Criterion version of "Dr. Strangelove" :D ... so it wasn't a total lost.

Personally I think there is a Laserdisc fairy that comes around and steals them. I have had a disc recently that was listed here and Ebay, which is still listed here and Ebay (I dont sell anywhere else) and had a request for it and it is gone. This happened yesterday and I have to pull it today. Explain that one. I have a picture of it and everything. It is just poof, gone.

I bought one LD from a seller and bid on a different LD from the same seller. He canceled to the one I was bidding on but I did get the one I bought. don't remember much though it seemed like a few years ago.

That happened to me not too long ago. Seller was selling this somewhat obscure movie Hong Kong '97. Won the auction, but it turns out he already sold it and just kind of lost count of his laserdiscs on ebay at the time (he has like 100 or so on sale at one time.)

He gave me a refund, but still, it was disappointing.

Wow, looks like I'm not alone. Maybe we should start a "support group." Get together on the 2nd Tuesday night of each month, swap stories, hug, cry... :)

I still think the worst was the time I bid on a Sony HDL-2000 HDVS videodisc player, & won it, only to have the seller tell me that he'd let his little brother take it apart after it had failed to get a bid — but had re-listed it anyway! He was very angry when I left negative feedback, but what else should I have done?

Ordered a copy of Deep Blue Sea on ebay once. Upon arrival one side of the disc was so shattered it looked like someone just wailed on it. Strangely the other side was normal and probably playable if you wanted to gamble. Anyway, got it again somewhere else. You will too.
