In retrospect I probably should have got that one instead too because then I wouldn't have to deal with burnt-in Japanese subtitles, but at the time it was my understanding that the 1995 letterbox Japanese pressing being the most recent release of THX 1138 in its theatrical form, was the best quality version available, but I have seen many people and many pictures that indicate that the USA version is as good or even better in terms of PQ. It should be easier/cheaper to find/buy too, although there are no sellers listed here on LDDB. I am still happy with my Japanese pressing. The cover art looks great, the transfer looks strong, and as I said, it seems to have gone right up in value.
