hello fellow laserdisc fans i came across a star wars trilogy special edition box set which has a bronze instead of silver darth vader in front and the letters on the back are in gold instead of silver. has anyone ever seen anything like this? i never seen any edition like this and im collecting over 2 decades now

The coloring makes me think of the VHS tapes where the widescreen box was Silver and the pan & scan was bronze or gold or whatever. other then that no idea, is it NTSC or PAL? |

I used to know what that meant.... I think it's either Pan&Scan vs. Widescreen or if it's PAL box, could be dubbed vs. subtitled or just a UK release? (German PAL box is gold as well) Julien |

Julien the German edition is gold but has a completely different structure on the front of the box covering 100% all the front.the one I am showing here has an artwork like the us release but in gold.i know that there was a vhs release in 97 that there was silver with widescreen and gold with pan scan but that’s not the case here cause in front it says widescreen.i havent got it in hand yet but when I do I will let you know exactly the content |

It could have oxidized. The T2 boxes changed color every time they were reprinted. Do you have this or just a picture? What is the catalog number? This is a super low quality picture for any commonly used device in 2018 so it’s really hard to learn anything from it. It could be super obviously fake and it would be impossible to tell from these bad pics. |

Sadly there is no asian writting on it, or alternative cover layout, that what makes HK discs special in a way. |

so its in my hands first thing i can say is that the box side entrance is on the left as we see the front and not on the right as most boxes are it looks like the us box set of the trilogy but with bronze vader and gold lettering. content is the three discs which are listed on lddb as http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/32767/006 ... al-Edition http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/32768/006 ... al-Edition http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/32769/006 ... al-Edition this has nothing to resembles that its an asian release as you can see from the covers (only stickers on the front) Also there are no subtitles only English closed captioning |

I have these three releases, but not the slip-sleeve. Until now, I didn't even know the slip sleeve was issued. Does it have a catalog number? Seeing the stickers on the shrink wrap though, I suspect these are actually from Taiwan, and not Hong Kong. |
