i think this is the pilot episode. SG-1 movies were made well after LD days. It is listed here as 97 mins. the pilot was 92mins. It could be a different cut or mistype. I will inform once I recieve it and watch it. I don't think any other episodes exist on LD. up until yesterday I didn't think this one was available either. They are either so very rare or this LD is the only SG LD beside the movie.

The Pilot of Stargate SG1 is the only episode to exist on laserdisc. I have it. To be honest it's not a great pressing. Unless you're a Stargate purist and want all associated home video material associated with the show, I'd avoid it.

I finally bought the complete series US box set. To my surprise this show is in widescreen on the DVDs. I did some read up. Apparently they were shot in widescreen but showed full screen on tv. I happen to own this LD which has the pilot. The LD is open matte. I prefer the headroom on the LDs, too bad only 1 episode made it to LD.

I bought the individual seasons as they were released. All were full screen until the later seasons. I'm very interested to know if they cropped these i.e. Picture loss/blown up to achieve the widescreen or if there truly is more picture information on the sides. I've almost given up on them ever releasing this show on bluray (I'd buy the complete set in a heartbeat).

Give me a season, episode and time, I will make captures. We can compare them. I would like to know as well.
