I have a lot of them, but those were not for the commercial market (came from The Box UK, Music Television station)
I don't think there were any on the market....

There's probably a Daft Punk or Prodigy video on some compilation somewhere, but music videos basically mean major lable moolah, and dance acts, especially back then...aren't that.

It's a shame that Orbital BBC concert didn't get an LD. That thing is great.

Two Promo Lights Clip series featuring Dance hits:

I think C+C Music Factory has an LD

If you're into Japanese Dance Groups, TRF has a few discs too: Crazy Gonna Crazy

Thanks,

Am going to have a look out for the box discs but I suspect they will be hard to come by.

Save yourself a bundle and time, there are many VJ services that have done superb remasters of that era's promo music videos, in fact better than the few LD's from this era. If your just into collecting content and not physical LD's, I would recommend Mix Mash or Promo services. Can be found for download or purchase.

I've got one from 808 State "Optical". (There are 1 or 2 hits on eBay.com right now ;) if you like that genre) .
"Dazzle", electronic music ld with 'simple' videoart, (caleidoscopic squares and such).
And a few Broadcast LD's from Musicbox and Korean LD's with music video's, containing also a few clips in the dance genre.

I still can't understand why Future Sound of London still haven't released any full album of their awesome music videos, like Cascade, Lifeforms, Papua New Guinea etc or rerendered those fractals to full HD in the computer and issued them in HD. :( .
Only 2 or 3 clips of them show up on the dvd "Niches".

Would you mind throwing a few links for these out? http://www.remixservices.com has very nice and complete looking catalogs for these, but no way to purchase them.

I still think it is a pity many aren't even on dvd.
I'd like the full albums of Future Sound of London on dvd. Only a few clips on a niche dvd and a desolated studio ld.
In the 90's i watched very frequently to MTV's Partyzone and enjoyed those video's so much!
They do have LD's of almost any Unplugged artist, sitting their live, just playing their instruments (could almost just play that with with the video off, but don't have the very visual MTV Partymixes available on dvd? Those things I just don't get!

Just bought a vsd of c + c music factory with "Everybody Dance Now!" last week.
It is one of a late vsd at the time when Dance basically really took off, like with dr Alban, 2 Unlimited, etc.

2 Unlimited and C + C Music Factory also are on 12"s available. CDV and VSD had a short timespan, so C
+ C might be the only 5" cdv with really the dance genre.

I got a 12" of 808 state "Optical". (The similar dvd is called Optibuk).

And for the rest a few 12"s from Hong Kong and 'broadcast studio' LD's (Paxis Pop) with various artists including some of those authentic block hair style baggy pants joly rap music of the early 90's 8-) .

I didn't realized you were so desperate for content that you'd be buying C+C Music factory. In that case, be sure to get the Pet Shop Boys LDs for Discography and Performance and New Order's Story. While they are not pure dance music like 808 State or Prodigy, there are many common connections.

C + C happened to be so, because i ran across them at Japanese auctions and instantly recognized the title "Everybody Dance Now!" which i think is nice to have on a vsd, plus i have this special weakness for cdv's and vsd's and 5" cdv-only players.
It is however the first version and not the cooler remix where you hear "the beat, the beat, the beat is gonna have it" The quality of the vsd was very good, very sharp picture.

About 80's remixes, yes i like those as well, as i do like 80's synth pop, new wave: I got Howard Jones, Visage, Depeche Mode.
New Order, I got the 12" and the 5"s.
Pet Shop Boys i got the Pal 8" "Television" twice, but both pretty rotten :( .
In that LD there are sections of the band shortly being interviewed and one section interviewed by our Dutchman Ruud de Wild.
Videola Remix of Godley and Creme 8" that has a rythmic remix style beginning.
And so on.

I started collecting LD's mainly because of music titles not available on dvd or later blu ray.
And 80's pop is the most i like. (See my signature below for my collection ;) )

Nice one laserdisc_fan, that's exactly the sort of content I would love to have on LD. I think its a real shame the like of prodigy didn't release some of the bigger albums on LD but I suppose its all down to demand.

Yes I love those discs myself.
They were pressed by PDO - I know that sends shivers downs most laserdisc collectors backs but these were not those awful gold LDs that are nearly all rotted. They are regular silver LDs and have absolutely no rot at all. The company seemed to get its act together in the early 90's. Some are PAL and some are NTSC.

As for the Prodigy there was no single video compilation LD available but key tracks from all of their best 90's albums are available on laserdiscs:

The Prodigy - "Fire" from Experience (1992) album is on:
ET/VideoLink Dance Hits: Number 593 [PLP-A5-10-92]

The Prodigy - "No Good (Start The Dance)" from Music for the Jilted Generation (1994) album is on:
Pioneer Promotional Music Videos - The Box: Disc 149 [18-782]

The Prodigy - "Firestarter" from The Fat of the Land (1997) album is on:
ETV Dance Hits 5044 [03-092]
Pioneer Promotional Music Videos - The Box: Disc 240 (1997) [09-255]

I'm 99.9% sure I have some other Prodigy videos on other promo and/or laserjuke laserdiscs that I haven't yet added the track details to LDDB.com.

A few more dance artists from the early 90's I have on laserdisc are:
Utah Saints
Ya Kid K (from Technotronic fame who of course kickstarted this whole genre)
Orbital
AB Logic
Kym Mazelle

In my opinion the early 90's was golden period for music.
On the high streets the big sellers might still have been grunge and rap but dance tracks were the most memorable with their ultra catchy piano riffs & layered synths reverberating from the radio almost non stop. These songs defined the very essence of what I liked so much about 90's music and many are considered classics today. The late 90's and 2000's in comparision were bland, manufactured and very repetitive. When a quarter of the top 40 were remixes of past hits you knew something was seriously wrong.
