I just finished playing my LD of ELO Live at Wembley and I was very disappointed. Side A only went about 29 minutes and then the disc ended. What the heck happened? I have the same performance on CED and the CED is 58 minutes long. The CED starts with the on-stage UFO rising to show the band and the band starts up. The LD has no UFO rising. I feel cheated.

Does anyone else have this LD and have noticed how short in time side A is and that there is no side B? (I tried to play side B and the player would not do it.) By the way, this disc is a Japanese production as evidenced by the obi and a paper insert written in Japanese.

Well according to all listed but 1 they are 58-63 minutes.
You should get something on the second side, a turtle or even text if its a dead side.

This is the only one that has no running time posted. Electric Light Orchestra (ELO): Live at Wembley - Out of the Blue Tour (1978) [VALZ-2189]

I can't read the running time from the image because it's so low quality, but it shows 14 tracks listed.

The 2 VALZ & VALC have a running time of 63 minutes of which 35 minutes on side 1 - content wise they are identical.
It has footage of arriving Duke and Duchess and intro from Tony Curtis.

Which version / Ref number you got?

Okay, the street rioting can stop now. I made a dumb mistake yesterday. I played side 2 as side 1. I found out my error when I replayed the LD this morning. I will now have to live this error down for the rest of my miserable life (lol). I will self-flagellate for 2 hours for such a dumb error.

I did find out some more about the LD though. The LD has a few minutes at its beginning and end that are not on the CED. At the beginning, there are several minutes showing the duke and duchess arriving at the concert and the introduction by Tony Curtis of ELO. At the end after the credits, there are several minutes covering the band and the duke and duchess meeting and talking.

The time for side 1 is 34 minutes and side 2 is 28 minutes. The UPC code on the obi for the LD is 4988112321892. The LD has digital sound and is copyrighted 1989.

I will now go and cry in my time out corner (ROFL).

I did the same thing when picking up an OVA anime disc years ago, only watched side A and always stopped the player before it could change to side B.

One day I forgot and it changed sides. WOW there was another episode

What can I say?

I finished the night watching the LD of Fleetwood Mac: The Dance. I also have "The Eurythmics: Live" to watch, too.

Love Fleetwood Mac and Eurythmics. This coming from an old Husker Du/Dino Jr/Sugar/Bob Mould fan. ELO are just tooo candy a** tho, tried appreciating but just can't. Actually I'm 40 this year and since I was 35 prolly Ive beening up and buy going through the music that old people liked when I was a kid. A lot on SACD. From Chicago to Boston to Asia and Whitesnake. It's been a ride. Some really great music. ELO though, no.
