For the music fan who prefers their music loud and fast there is a superb series of thrash/death/speed metal music laserdiscs available as follows:

Doomsday News vol.1: Metal on Noise [TELP-48007]
Running Wild: Death or Glory Tour (1989) [TELP-48008]
Doomsday News vol.2: Best German Metal on Noise [TELP-48012]
3-Way Thrash: Live in London '89 (1989) [TELP-48013]
Coroner: No More Color Tour '90 (1990) [TELP-48014]
Venom: Live '90 (1990) [TELP-48020]
Celtic Frost: Live at Hammersmith Odeon [TELP-48021]
Nuclear Assault: Handle with Care - European Tour [TELP-48024]
Gwar: Live from Antartica [TELP-48025]
Tankard: Open All Night [TELP-48026]
Napalm Death: Live Corruption (1990) [TELP-48028]
Sabbat: End of the Beginning [TELP-48029]

I'm still collecting these at the moment.

I've duplicates of several of the titles above and would be happy to trade/sell/swap for the other 3 I am missing which are as follows:
TELP-48021 Celtic Frost: Live at Hammersmith Odeon
TELP-48024 Nuclear Assault: Handle with Care - European Tour
TELP-48029 Sabbat: End of the Beginning

Here are the ones I have so far:
Image

These are very tough to find now so happy to pay top book prices or offer fantastic swaps.
My personal favourite so far is Running Wild: Death or Glory Tour. This isn't thrash but instead is just really powerful heavy metal - actually very melodic and an explosive concert!

On a related note if you are a Venom fan another companion title not from this TELP series but worth tracking down is the following:

Venom: The 7th Date of Hell (1984) [SM058-3079]

Image

I have a spare of this as well so would be happy to trade/sell/swap it for one of the other TELP series I am missing.

Looking at the catalogue numbers for the thrash titles from the TELP series does make me wonder if there are further discs available that are not yet listed on LDDB.com.
Does anyone know?

There was a magazine series that released a few LDs in the mid eighties or early ninties. I dont remember. It was pretty cool. I had like the first 4 issues and then lost them.

I was rummaging through my laserdisc collection and found another superb thrash metal title:

Suicidal Tendencies: Lights Camera Suicidal [ESLU-119]

Image

I bought this shortly after I started collecting laserdiscs in 2006 and I have to admit I've never seen another copy anywhere in the world!

Does anyone else own this one?

Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (D.R.I) changed their style to thrash metal in 1987 for their Crossover album.

Amazingly there is a laserdisc from this period which captured them live at the Ritz!:

I suspect you are right!
Definitely a strong candidate for most unlikely band to have been released on laserdisc!

A few more that probably fall into this general music category are the following:

These discs contain bands like Rock Goddess, Venom, Warlock, Thor, Dianno, Wrathchild etc.

Found a few more speed metal laserdiscs in my collection:

The Grim Tales laserdisc in particular is amazingly rare.
It features the likes of Rage, Kreator, Coroner, Tankard, Mordred, D'Priest, Rights of the Accused, Killing Joke etc.
I've never seen another copy of that one anywhere at any price.

None of the Metallica laserdiscs are particularly rare or difficult to obtain:

The colour black is the consistent theme throughout all of the releases.

A few more alternative/industrial metal releases that broadly fall into this category if nothing else because they are so fast and loud!:

The Faith No More titles (particularly Video Croissant) are very tough to find, but not in the same league as this one:

Sabbat - The End of the Beginning:

This is another classic thrash metal title from the infamous TELP series of laserdiscs licensed from FOTODISK Ltd., UK.
