I recently acquired my favorite 2 LD's from Ryuichi Sakamoto :

Ryuichi Sakamoto: D&L Live at Budokan 11.30.95 (1996) [FLLF-8514]
Ryuichi Sakamoto: Playing the Orchestra (1997) [FLLF-8534]

Both have been manufactured by Nippon Columbia, unfortunately the "OBI" is a sticker on the outer plastic sleeve, which I do not have...

Both LD have sleeves which are uncommon for JP LD's :
- both are very thin
- special printing on the DL sleeve - you can feel the letters - like for blind people
- relief on the PtO sleeve

Greetings Edwin240170,

Ryuichi Sakamoto has always been a ground breaking, unique and original composer, some of his work I love and have purchased over the years.

Merry Xmas Mr Laurence, various other movie Soundtracks and his collaborations with David Sylvian (of 80's Band Japan.)

Thank you for sharing with us all here.

Kind Regards

Love Sakamoto's work. The LDs I have from him are Media Bahn and the Risky CDV, though I have quite a lot of CDs and all the YMO albums. Was lucky enough to see him perform live a few years back and also YMO a few tears before then.

RIP Ryuichi Sakamoto (1952-2023) after the loss off Yukihiro Takahashi (also 1952-2023) in January this year...

I can recommend the LD s available, some are easy to obtain, others are quite difficult

Losing him and Vangelis so close to each other…the world is a different place without them. Their influence was so vast as to be genuinely unknowable.
