Well in order to get the true sound you should just play your LD and stop being a copy pirate.

As long you as you own the original LD, and that the copy is for your own private usage, it's not a pirate copy. I did a Digital Audio rip of Prince: Lovesexy Live (1988) [080 844 1] before selling my PAL LD player. I still own the LD even though I can't play it anymore. Toslink Output 44.1KHz/16bit like the original soundtrack straight to Toslink USB recorder on my laptop. No modification. Turned it into FLAC (~244MB) for normal play and compressed for mobile listening. Julien

Clapton live in Hyde Park was a highlight. I sold the HiMD walkman for big money 5 years ago and have missed it ever since. I may finally step into the DAP world and want to try to replicate the HiMD experience..

But now that it's coming out on 4KHD we are all saved No more copy pirates asking how to bootleg films they don't own the rights to.

While Blu Ray has surpassed LD audio quality especially if you've got a ton of speakers and a nice setup, LD digital sound is still nice if you don't have all that. It's literally CD audio

It's literally CD audio But there are so many mixes on LD that will never exist on Blu Ray, let alone in remastered form to fully take advantage of BD's capabilities. Therefore a solid PCM setup is still essential in 2020.
