It's actually pretty smart. Why waste space putting the same track in audio format. I'd much rather have another B-side or different album track than the same track repeated again. Quite a few Japanese CDVs opted to have unique audio tracks on them: Here's another example: Show-Ya: Kodoku no LABYRINTH [CTV24-105]

Julien This is the reason to own a CDV-only player! I now have four, only one of which will even pretend to play a disc, alas. I was going to say the same. I'd go for the Pioneer PD 707V. That one has a clamper on the cd transport and is dead silent. Luckily most of my players still work except for Yamaha M777. You can find the Pioneer every now and then on Buyee.

Gives you a few music videos, then some audio tracks with a still image for video on a 12" disc. I only have this one: Dream Academy,The (1986) [CLD-86-003]Then there was overlap with the videos and audio only tracks. I guess it would make sense, if they merely used the same audio from whatever tape master they used in for the video portion. Then used the same redbook audio from the CD release on the audio only tracks.

Sleeve art identical size to an LP. The full album available identical to an LP, plus the added bonus of the music videos to watch. They could have made them double sided to accomodate virtually any length of album and/or extra videos where some albums had more singles etc. It actually would have rendered 5" and 8" LDs obsolete if it had taken off and also killed VHS music video tapes and LPs!

I have all of the "Compact LaserDisc" titles except "Colonel Abrams." "Cocker" was a bit of a departure from the formula as it contains all 10 tracks from the CD but 3 of them are videos only (no audio only variant).

Perhaps it didn't sell as well when first released. I wonder was Cocker missing audio only tracks due to the 3 video tracks taking up more space on the disc? Still they could have used the other side if that was an concern. It's definitely a problem they could have overcome for most albums - even one with half a dozen videos released.
