I saw this on eBay. Anybody know what the cable with RCA out is for? I assume the other cable is for hooking the player up to a computer.

I'd probably would get this but I have enough players already and I could get a custom cable for hooking a player up to a computer if I really want to.

Interesting. That player seems more advanced than other V players I've seen. The data link seems to have video intigrated into it now instead of just RS232. The logos say Laserbarcode 2 (2 is news to me) and also apparently this supports Barcode CD, presumably a CD-ROM format, which I've never heard of.

Here's a manual/spec sheet, full color even.

http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/tec ... ations.pdf

Inside it says the trademark on Barcode CD is owned by Sony.

Manual is here!

http://manuals.lddb.com/LD_Players/Pioneer/CLD/CLD-V2600/

As described in Section 3.3.3 of this manual, the LaserBarcode Standard was officially revised by the LaserBarcode Association on August 1, 1992, to create the new LaserBarcode 2 (LB2) standard command set. LB2 contains all of the barcode functions available with the original LaserBarcode standard command set as well as new barcode functions that provide for Time Searches and Time Segment plays on CLV discs, slow motion playback on CAV discs, and access to digital audio.

Don't get fooled by the RGB cable shown in the listing picture. They were most likely just using the green cable to run the composite into the display that used a D-Shell connector. This player only has composite and S-Video outputs.

The interface cable is RS-232C, 15-pin. All literature says Composite, S-Video , and the Modulated RF for the video outputs.

Have the person send you a picture of the video cable connector and you should see the D-Shell is a VGA connector.
