Hey,

I have a pioneer CLD-2950 and I seem to have an issue when I pause any film.

Instead of getting a freeze frame I get a blue screen that says pause.

Is this an issue with the player or disc? I've played many different types of disc through it and all the same results.

I am using component cables to connect to TV, if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

Ted

The 2950 does not have digital freeze frame for CLV discs.
The blue screen is normal.
It should be different with CAV discs though...

My Panasonic LX-600u does the same when it pauses on both CLV and CAV discs. This is normal. On a CAV disc, in order to get a freeze-frame, you need to press the Step key on a compatible remote.

By the by I use a Logitech Harmony 650 to control my LX-600u.

Welcome to the wonderful world of LaserDisc.

Yes, some players will only give the image on the pause when you still step, some will give you the solid blue or some even black screen.
As above, if your player has no trick play on CLV then you will only get blue on both, CAV may give you blue on pause and image on still or image on both,
I can't remember about CAV right now as my players have always had trick play and I always use the still step button as its easier to press with my fingers. :P
