Julien My HLD-X9 supposedly was manufactured in 2001. Serial is BBTT006968JP. Mint-o-Matic tells me it was manufactured in February 1981 Cheers!

And that would make this little guy a CLD-R5 from 2003: http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h240067452Julien

nice video, the 1750 is a good player, I had the 1850 once Now sporting five players, four pioneer and one kenwood. CLD 2950, D750, D515, CLD 2750K (USA with dual voltage) and LV-9200 Kenwood karaoke
I'd love an elite player one day, have the dream of owning a runco LJR I or II, highly unlikely though

I'd love an elite player one day, have the dream of owning a runco LJR I or II, highly unlikely though I had several models over the time that I collect laserdiscs. Sony MDP 212 Pioneer CLD-1600 ( exact copy of the CLD 1750 but PAL only ) Pioneer DVL-909 Pioneer DVL-919E Pioneer CLD-D925 Pioneer CLD-S315 The both DVL's were the finest ones. Ultimate goal is to get a HLD player ( X9 probably ).

I have a total of 21 players and all of them are Pioneer or Pioneer based machines except two Sony units. They are as follows in order of oldest to newest machine. Pioneer, LD-838D (picked up this unit for free and will probably mod it for AC3-RF output at some point)Pioneer, CLD-3030 (my main machine still for my home theater as well as being the first machine I ever owned. In addition, it was the first machine that I modded w/ an AC-3 RF output) Pioneer, LD-W1 (purchased recently and in really great condition. I plan on modifying it down the road for AC3-RF and a Coax Digital Out)Pioneer, CLD-3070 (picked up this unit for $25 but it appears to have a gummed up mechanism preventing functionality; will attempt to fix and then mod for AC-3 RF down the road)ProScan, PSLD43 (Pioneer, CLD-2090 clone) (first mod with a "scratch built" AC3-RF output) . See this link for details >>> Scratch built AC3-RF board installed in my ProScan, PSLD43Pioneer, CLD-M90 (single side LD player w/ five disc CD auto changer) (completed mod to add AC3-RF and Coax + Optical Digital Outputs). See this link for more details >>> Pioneer CLD-M90 now modded for AC-3 RF and Digital OutputsPioneer, CLD-D701 (a modified unit w/ an internal AC-3 RF Demodulator) See this link for details >> Modified Pioneer CLD-D701 w/ an internal AC3-RF DemodulatorPioneer Elite, CLD-52 (acquired for free and had a seized loading mechanism & stretched loading belt; fixed now and will mod for AC3 at some point)Denon, LA-3100 x 2 (Pioneer, CLD-D701 clone)(I own two units and both are modified for AC3; one w/ AC3-RF and the other w/ an internal AC3-RF Demodulator). See this link for details >>> Dual LD player Home Theater with PCM, AC3, & DTS capabilityPioneer, CLD-M301 (acquired for free and in pristine condition. Probably will at some point mod it for AC3 just like my M90)Pioneer, CLD-D702 (unit has a damaged alpha turn mechanism and jog wheel; will attempt to repair all of it. Also, if and when fixed, will perform AC3-RF mod to it.)Pioneer Elite, CLD-97 (picked this unit up in pretty good condition and will be the fourth player I plan to modify with an AC-3 RF Demodulator mod if there are no space limitations)Pioneer, CLD-D703 (will be @ some point be my third player w/ the AC-3 RF Demodulator mod) Sony, MDP-600 (player turns on and then off; appears to be the typical bad caps issue. Will fix at some point and will mod for AC3 if repair is a success. Picked it up for free)Sony, MDP-650 (player has a worn pulley gear and display is dead; gear is the bigger issue as part will be difficult to fix so no plans to repair at this time)Pioneer, CLD-D704 (on a future home theater update, I will have the modded 703 and this stock 704 set-up as a tandem pair that will work though a Sony, SDP-EP9ES AC-3 processor) Mitsubishi, M-V7057 x 2 (Pioneer, CLD-D704 clone) (I just had to adopt this unit since it was so cheap @ $40. Not sure what to do with it yet. Picked up another one for literally nothing and in great working order. Now I have two I need to find a set-up for.)Pioneer Elite, CLD-59 (not much to say except that it's glossy and looks great. It may not be a truly Elite model since it’s basically a subtlely upgraded D604 but it’s still a fine machine). Pioneer, CLD-V2800 (Purchased on eBay but shouldn’t have as it arrived damaged. Going to take my time to see if it can be resurrected. Good thing is that I got a full refund. And these are six players I got rid of for various reasons.... Pioneer, CLD-1030 (a broken machine I acquired and was going to keep it for spare parts for my CLD-3030 but in the end dumped it maybe 15 years ago. I really regret getting rid of it now since parts are hard to come by.) Samsung, DV5000 (acquired for free and appears have load issue as it will detect a type of disc, spins it up, but won't read it. It seemed to smell of fish which could mean leaky capacitors)(acquired on 6/28/2021 and disposed of on 8/14/2021 at Best Buy!; decided that the machine was not worth the effort to salvage) Samsung, DV5100 (unit is not able to recognize any disc and working on diagnosing if the unit is worth salvaging as it is a low end single side Karaoke player)(acquired on 3/30/2021 and disposed of on 8/14/2021 at Best Buy!; decided that the machine was not worth the effort to salvage) Panasonic, LX-101 (I acquired it for free and then sold it later on for essentially very little money. I also regret getting rid of it mainly because I would have loved getting this one modded to AC3). Magnavox, WRV100 (it was a free player from my co-worker and it was always a piece of crap. One day it just went berserk so I just got rid of it. Probably my least favorite player of all time. Sony, MDP-455 (this was my 2nd player I ever owned and had it modified for a short time with my first ever AC3 Demodulator mod but it too ran into issues like the Magnavox and was scrapped in the end) See this link for details >>> My old Sony, MDP-455, LD player w/ AC3 Demodulator modIn respect to surround processors / AV receivers, I have.... Pioneer, VSX-9700S, Dolby Pro-Logic AV Receiver (stored away but might bring back as an audio only stereo receiver w/ possible multi-room applications) Pioneer, VSX-D1S, Dolby Pro-Logic AV Receiver (found this two blocks away on a street corner and picked it up. Appears to be in good condition but still need to test it. Sony, SDP-E800, Dolby Digital Surround Processor w/ AC3-RF input (recently acquired to use with my newly re-modded ProScan player and using 5.1 self powered PC speakers on it for a low cost set-up). See this link for details about my on-going troubleshooting of this unit’s audio issue >>> More Sony SDP-E800 issues & solutions +added exhaust fan modSony, SDP-EP9ES, Dolby Digital Surround Processor w/ AC3-RF input (used as a digital switcher now w/ the Denon AVR-2808CI & the Pioneer CLD-3030 LD player) Denon, AVD-2000, Dolby Digital Surround Processor w/ AC3-RF input (recently acquired and now being used as another digital switcher w/ the Denon AVR-3805 & the two Denon LA-3100 LD players)Sony, STR-DE915, Dolby Digital AV Receiver w/ AC3-RF input (retrieved recently from my brother and storing away for now) Denon, AVR-3805, Dolby Digital EX / DTS-ES AV Receiver (on loan to a brother and coupled w/ the Denon, AVD-2000) Onkyo, TX-SR501, 6.1 Dolby Digital EX / DTS-ES AV Receiver (stored and looking for a home for it) Denon, AVR-2808CI, Dolby True HD / DTS Master HD AV Receiver (my main unit at this time and coupled w/ the Sony SDP-EP9ES) Pioneer, VSX-1020-K, Dolby True HD / DTS Master HD, Internet & Bluetooth capable AV Receiver (stored and looking on how to use it) Marantz, NR-1605, Dolby True HD / DTS Master HD, Intenet & Bluetooth capable AV Receiver (a broken unit that I am working on fixing and will likely use it to upgrade my cheap set-up) Yup.... I have too much equipment.

Over the years, I've tried to re-purchase every player model I owned over time. I've gone a little overboard, as you see from my current player list here. I replaced the CLD-909 with the CLD-1010, because I really didn't like the 909 and the 1010 had the same "swing up" CD motor assembly the 909 had.
An update on my current player list. I use the DVL-919 (MIL) for anything requiring analog audio, the HLD-X9 for anything with AC-3, DTS or PCM audio and a VP-1000 for most DiscoVision. Asking this question is like asking "What brand of Betamax you own?" or "what brand of VCS 2600 you won?" You know Pioneer was going to be number 1. I'm surprised 17% of primary LDs are NON-Pioneer. But then again, It's higher than Betamax, where the only 2 other companies making Beta were Sanyo and Sears. Probably 90-95 percent of active Betas are Sony.
I don't know whether there is a bigger percentage of non-Pioneer LDs or a bigger percentage of non-Atari 2600s. The funny thing is Philips (before Pioneer bought the rights to be the adoptive mother of the system, and later Pioneer) licensed all LD players, whereas Colecovision Expansion 1, Coleco Gemini, Columbia House game player, and others were unauthorized knockoffs of the 2600. And they were legal because they used all off-the-shelf, (possibly) public domain parts.
Did anyone make a Selectavision machine other than RCA?
Also, besides the Sears Beta for movie players, and the Sears Telegames (2600) and Super Telegames (INTV), TandyVision (INTV), The GTE/Sylvania (INTV) game system, and the Montgomery Ward (Bally) game system, were there other "Store Brand" media players. I gave a lot of examples of interactive media. Are the any store brands of "linear media" players other than the Sears Beta, in any format? Any "Store Brand" Laser Disc, VHS, Selectavision.
I think Montgomery Ward was big on Laser Disc and might have had a store brand, as their promotional media were printed on Laser Disc.
