ok maybe this is a stupid question but i am better safe than sorry.

so i won this auction for a sony sdp-ep9es surroundprocessor/pre-amp on ebay.
it arrived and looks really good but it has a north-american/japanese powerplug so i need a stepdown converter.

here in the Netherlands we have 230v 50hz coming out the wall. the player specifically needs 120v 60hz (50 watt), as stated on the back.
I do have a 100 watt stepdown converter but it converts to 110v 50hz.

i'm a bit afraid to try it because i really don't want to damage the sony. i'm quite sure the difference in voltage would be within tolerance but i am not sure about the 50 vs 60hz thing.

can someone with more expertise in this area please give me some advice?

thx!
