I recently purchased one of these from Japan. I live in the US so I was wondering if anyone knows if i'll need a voltage converter and if so what kind? Thanks! |

It depends on the unit that you purchased. If the unit was meant for international use, they usually come with a built in step up / step down converter switch. It would usually be a dial control or slide switch located on the back near the the AC cord. If the unit was just meant for the Japanese market, it will need to be "stepped up" w/ an external converter from 100VAC to the US 120VAC. |

Actually it's the other way around, you'll need to "step down" the 120V US down to 100V Japan. But APD-2 is probably 5~6W only, a very little one will be enough. Julien |

I’ve run tons of JDM gear on US outlets for decades. I’ve never seen anything complain. I’m not saying that something won’t like it but I don’t think a device like this would care. |

Some say small amounts won't hurt, eg. 100 to 120v. The UK gear is the big one to watch out for in different voltages. |

I had a similar unit that I didn't even pay attention to the 100-120 deal, it ran fine straight into the wall outlet but I only owned it for about 1 year then sold it off and didn't use it on a daily basis. |
