Hello there
I am new on this forum and new to LD-collecting in general.

I have just purchased my first LD player, the Pioneer CD-DV925. However, I also do want to get the AC-3 from my LD's out of my Classé preamplifyer, so I am currently on the look out for a AC-3 RF demodulator. I have Wind it Down to either a lexicon LDD1 or a meridian 519. However, this demodulator is going to be used in Denmark, whare we use 220V in the power outlet, and I'd rather avoid fulling around with stepdown transformers etc.
So, can anyone inhere please tell me if any of these can be baught in a UK/EU/version? I have seen a Company on Ebay offering an AC adaptor for the Lexicon, and they claim they can fit it with a EU plug and the correct input voltage, however I guess I'd still have to use a stepdown transformer in spite of that, as the demodulator is made in the US?

I do hope that someone here can reccomend a good sullution, so that I can get the AC3 from my LDplayer to my preamp soon!

All the best from Allan

I've never seen a 220v variant of the Meridian 519, so the Lexicon or the JBL SPD-RFD (Lexicon clone) which have external power bricks will probably be your best options.

Thanks to both of you.

Good to know that there is a 220V of the Maridian availible. I'd rather want a 220V version and not bother with transformers. Howabout the Lexicon, is a 220Vavailible?
And can anyone tell me if there are any suddle diffrences between the 2? From what I've been able to find out they seem to be quite identical to me, concerning capabilities, in and outputs etc.

Which one would you prefere and why?

Excellent to know. I'll update my spreadsheet.

Their operation appears to be identical. Digital pass-through when not playing AC3, switching over to AC3 when a signal is detected.

The lexicon runs on 9v AC using an external power supply... I'm using one in Australia on 240v with a locally sourced generic power supply...
