Hi! Since I got my hands on a Pioneer HLD-X9, I have to try out the Hi-Vision stuff as well. Seems it exist several different MUSE decoders out there... Any pros and cons regarding the different models? Which one would be "best"? |

That question partly depends on the features you need. Most people will go for the Victor HV-MD2 if they need MUSE->NTSC downconversion, & the Sony MSC-3000 or -4000 otherwise. I have presented an overview of models, including features & an attempt to put them in chronological order. The later ones, in general, have somewhat better video performance, use less power, & don't have cooling fans so are quieter. |

Brilliant! After having a look at that overview you've made, it seem like it is the Sony MSC-4000 that I want. Did some quick searches on that model and looks like that model can suffer from either audio or video issues, though. Probably will have to ask for a potential unit to be tested before I buy one. |
