A rare item I won last month, Lucasfilm THX D1138 / DSP crossover - monitor.
Other details on the D1138
http://www.mastercaddesigns.com/examples.htmlIt has AES digital inputs.
It's in good mint condition.
Dozens of small cross-head screws hold the top panel lid in place so what's inside?
THX two-way crossover board and spare space for a daughter board for 3-way
Monitor speakers on it sound great.
It all powers up well.
No it doesn't come with HDMI its all D plug connectors 9, 16, 25 and 37 pins.
Unplugged the AUX 1 lead from the Sony SDDS and plugged into the ANALOGUE INPUT to check/test the monitoring on the D1138 with region 2 DVD The Specialist (1994) with Onkyo set in Dolby pro-logicIIx mode to active the back surrounds as well and all monitoring channels checked out perfectly.
There is also a CS centre surround that wasn't checked as the lead cable wasn't wired/configured for this type of unit, but I'm sure its fine.
With some help assistance from THX
I was sent the software and users manual. I've still haven't yet got the crossover settings set up and transferred. THX was helpful to provide details but they couldn't remember how to set it up as its been discontinued for 10 years.
Sooty and his little friend "TEX" like it.
Running the software on the other pc.
I have to get a few female 37 pin D connectors to cut in half and find the wiring colours with a volt metre, when I get around to it.
