I was watching "Twister", in glorious Dolby Digital with Manual EX 7.1 Decoding set to on...

Volume was -15db with Dynamic Range Control set to Off, when it suddenly Turned off for no reason at the "Tornado Warning" Scene.

It turns out that scene can trip the Protection Circuit.
I tried it again with Dynamic Range Control set to On,
it was OK.

Interesting. I have a copy of Twister that I bought a number of years ago. The last time I watched it was with Pioneer CLD-980 which has only 2 channel stereo outputs. I have since upgraded my setup to 5.1 sound. I guess it is time to revisit the movie to see if I can reproduce what you experienced.
