I collect for all Sega systems except Master System and Sega CD. I have a few Sega CD games and SMS games but have no qualms with burned discs or a flash cart. As for non Sega, I have a small Xbox library, 100+ PS1 games, a few PSP and NES games.

I don't really collect games anymore, but I still play them constantly. I have pretty much every system from the NES to current except for a Xbone, with my favorites being the 16 bit systems.

I've collected a lot of video games over the years, so much that it's almost a disease... I import a lot of Japanese games - lots of Nintendo and Sony stuff from the Famicom/Super Famicom to the PS3, and handheld games from GB/GBC to DS (No JP 3DS games yet, but there will be soon since the region lock was beaten on the original 3DS/XL). I do collect some Sega stuff, but mostly just for the Japanese Saturn. And a few games for the Bandai Wonderswan handheld. My favorite consoles are the Super Famicom and the Saturn. I do collect US games as well for convenience's sake, since there are a lot of PS3 JRPGs that got nice releases here.

The bad thing about game collecting. I was getting more stuff than I needed, so I decided to stop and purge, only keeping a few games in an effort to save space. So then I bought a laserdisc player and now I'm filling the shelf back up...

I imagine I have a couple hundred games that I've never even played, not to mention all the different systems I have. I sometimes think I should just whittle it down to my personal favorites and sell off the rest.

You'd probably be happier that way. Sell the games you don't love, use the money to buy a flash cart so you can still play the odd random game when you get the urge.

These pictures have been doing the rounds this morning. News is currently breaking and the original location it was posted to seems to be down so there's a lot of confusion. All I know so far is that someone posted the following pictures on reddit. They appear to be a prototype of the fabled Super Nintendo Playstation; an abandoned co-operation between Sony and Nintendo to build a console that played both SNES games and CD based games. The history is messy but Nintendo essentially pulled the plug and Sony carried on developing it...the rest (much to Nintendo's regret) is history. Thought it would be of interest to this thread. https://imgur.com/a/Ll9kS

My first one developed a really weird malfunction, and I just replaced it, because I just don't have the experience or training to be working around the high voltages of CRTs... I'm hella excited about that PlayStation prototype! It would be amazing if we could reverse-engineer that......

I definitely collect them. I used to devote more time and effort to it, but I still have a reasonably diverse collection, even after pruning my collection the past few summers. Needed to save some space and make some money.
Garage sales have been a huge source of new inventory for me, but working regularly and trying not to clutter up my limited space means I've kinda cut back on going to those. I spend money and space on LaserDiscs instead. I'm a genius!
I still enjoy video games a lot, though. I kinda switch back and forth between PC and console gaming, modern and retro. My latest big buy was an Xbox 360 back in March -- found a perfect 120GB Elite at Goodwill for $10 -- and I built a small collection for that. The system I devoted the most time and money to, minus my gaming PC, would be the Sega Saturn, but I think my favorite would be my SNES. Getting a 3DS and "Majora's Mask 3D" back in February was easily the most excited I've been about video games for a while, at least until the "Fallout 4" announcement. Now I'm considering a PS4.
Basically, if you can play games on it, I probably either own it/have owned it/very much want it.

Here in the UK boxed Vectrex's and boxed games(not many of them around, they only made about 20) sell pretty high. Talking at least £400.

Also to their regret, Nintendo ending up going with Philips and their CD-I, which was a poor choice for everyone. The main reason they did this I believe was because partnering with Sony would have given them less control over their games and that made them uneasy.
