This is a video review of a 1981 game called Dark Tower. It was kind of a hybrid of a simple video game and a board game. Pretty advanced for the time though:

I still have the copy I bought in 1981 - complete with an intact box (it was a large box and people usually threw out the inner divider which surrounded the tower - the box alone would not support much weight and they were easily damaged).

Dungeons and Dragons also put out an electronic board game at the same time - it was not nearly as interesting as Dark Tower and was a pretty boring maze game. Here is a short video about that one:

I have Dark Tower and it really is a great and interesting game!

It doesn't look a patch on my favorite board game as a kid, Battle for the Galaxy Zylatron.
