Hate to be off-topic from LD's, but for those who have a PayPal account (even those who sell LD's), have you ever seen a message like this on your dashboard?
Image

Well, I did just this morning, but I didn't click it. It's obviously a well-disguised scam, so if you see this message on your dashboard, I would think it's best to ignore it, or report it to PayPal. I'm not sure.

Have utilized PayPal for many years now.
I have never received a notification like that one referenced.

And I have a bitcoin balance in PayPal....

I concur, be suspicious.....

It’s says “crypto” on it…and it’s an scam, what?

I don’t know what this is or where I would see it but I don’t think too many intelligent people would think it’s anything in their interests.

Oh man I haven't been on my paypal in years, just use CCs.
Are you sure this wasn't just an add that paypal is now using to generate money since its no longer the main source of payments??

I just turned on 2FA and unlinked my credit card from my PayPal account, and I'm not sure what to do, wait for some kind of fix for that "crypto-coin" bug or close my PayPal account and make a new one. Somehow I feel pretty calm after that; besides Mother and Father say I have to calm myself down and ignore these things. I was starting to go out of my mind from all this, man!

I would just ignore the request and report it to Paypal.

Maybe your PayPal email is also your LinkedIn email and it got used for phishing?

I'm too scared to even report it to PayPal. They probably won't be of any help.

Report it. I guarantee you that if you should be scared at all (which you shouldn't, because you recognized the scam and didn't click on it), you should be more scared of not reporting it than reporting it. User reports are how platforms find scams and get rid of them. Absolutely nothing bad will happen from bringing Paypal's security team's attention to this.

Okay, so I reported to PayPal via Facebook around 9am this morning, (yes, PayPal also has a Facebook account) and it's going to be a long while before they get back to me.

But meanwhile, a PayPal community member says that in addition to that "crypto-coin" thing, he also had a legitimate cash deposit, too. (So do I, except I hadn't met the $1 minimum yet). When he clicked "accept" on, it accepted both. I have a bad feeling he's a goner for sure, but there's no telling what'll happen next.

If I get a PayPal scam e-mail, I copy and paste the full headers into the body of the reply and forward it to spoof at paypal dot com...

Okay, so I contacted PayPal, this time on their site, and I explained everything, and they told me to send that fake "crypto-coin" message screenshot to PayPal's phishing email. Right now, they're looking into it.

EDIT: Logged into my dashboard just now, and that crypto thing's finally disappeared! Thank heavens!
