Maybe Ted Nugent could shred a few chords as well for pomp and circumstance ! ! !
Wow Ted Nugent is on record as saying that Michigan doesn’t qualify as “America” anymore so it doubt he’d be invited to such an event. Again, better off in Dallas...where people will defend it as history when someone wants to take it down. I’d like to see how much of the money needed to commission the statue actually came from Detroit and its suburbs and how much of this initiative is just outsiders being ironically “hilarious”.

Well . . . Philadelphia has a statue of Rocky. Why not Robocop for Detroit?

Let me know when Philadelphia has a 12 Monkey’s theme park bought with foreign money because that’s basically what we’re talking about. Rocky isn’t the most straightforward sports movie but it is broadly inspirational and the city is physically part of that thanks to the steps. Robocop depicts Detroit as pure hell for everyone living there. If you're only looking at the depiction of Detroit in the movie, of course. But Robocop was someone who was trying to help and fight against both crime and corrupt officials in that "pure hell" against all odds. So it all depends on if you want to look at the hero of the film or what he was fighting against.

I live a half hour from Detroit. I’ve been there 1000 times. Never been shot, never fell into a pool of toxic waste. You’re falling for the very thing I’m complaining about, played out stereotypes older than you are about a place you known nothing about. You could just as easy show Belle Isle, the Woodward Dream Cruise, Third Man Records, the Detroit Institute of the Arts. Did you known Detroit has a canal system that you can rent a boat and use to tour the old city? There are $100 homes (because taxes will be $2000 a year) but there are also $3M homes, you didn’t mention that. There is an Indy race there in the summer that is a lot of fun. But you posted a picture the worst thing you could. Try that with Berlin, London, Shanghai, etc and see what most horrible thing is you can dig up. You won’t though because they aren’t Detroit. “Any jokes about how New Jersey smells? Never mind that it’s on the ocean and has literally two million acres of forest because once I was there, technically, while driving between my hotel and the airport and that’s all I know so I just want to hear about the smells.”

I want to live in that fully wired '80s house in Texas Think it sold a few years back for about 20% of what a normal house in Ozstralia would sell for. Robo can be a statue in my town anytime. I'm sure 99% of you guys know but Tokyo has/had a 1:1 scale RX-78 defender and it was glorious, took this snap back in '09 in Odaiba:
