Oh yeah, I also had a Neo Geo AES for a short while. Decided to sell it because I'd never be able to afford the carts I wanted for it (Mark of the Wolves, Samurai Shodown V/Zero, Super Dodge Ball.)

Though it was cool to play Samurai Shodown II with no load times at home

i collect Nes games. and some Snes and Game Boy games.

I used to. I specialized in pre-NES systems, had rarities like the RCA Studio II, a CIB Fairchild Channel F, etc. Collected most systems up until 1999, with my last new system being a Dreamcast. Had over 100 different platforms at one point. Also collected vintage computers, with around 75 systems from Altair to Amiga (most full systems, with drives, modems, etc.). When I moved recently, I dumped most of my collection on fellow collectors, keeping the following:

Atari 2600, around 600 games.
Atari 7800, around 75 games.
Intellivision (Model 3 from INTV) with ECS computer system, around 100 games.
NES, around 700 games.
SNES demo kiosk, around 200 games.
Virtual Boy, complete set of games.
PS1, around 400 games.
Saturn, around 200 games.
Dreamcast, around 75 games.

I also kept three arcade games: Karate Champ, 1943, and Satan's Hollow.

WOW, you must've had one hell of an awesome house to be able to maintain a collection such as that... hats of to you, good sir...

oh, forgot to mention; a quick and very effective tweak for any home VGC; ferrite beads;



put them on your VGC's AC adaptor leads and they will filter out AC line grunge,
removing the "tizziness" from the sound of the SEGA GENESIS, -for example-
firming up the sound all over. it'll do the same to most every console out there.
you would not believe the miracles it does, just go ahead and try it, the improvement is not subtle, at least for me...

It seems silly to have a large collection unless of course its part of a museum but even then there are plenty of games not worth owning.

I wish Apple had success with the pippin because it would be very interesting since MS has Xbox. I wonder why MS did a console eventually and not as early as Apple did.

I've gotting back into retro gaming again and currently have the following consoles up and running.

Nes (NTSC with NESRGB)
Sega Mega Drive (PAL with 50/60Hz and ENG/JAP switches)
Sega Saturn (PAL with multibios and 50/60 hz switch)
Sega Dreamcast (PAL)
Sega Dreamcast (NTSC-J)
Playstation 3 Super slim (PAL)

On Nes and Mega Drive I only play games with my EverDrives. For disc based systems I only use original copies of the games (which I collect). For video processing I use XRGB-Mini (highly recommended for retro gamers using HD displays). If you want to get 31KHz video out of the Dreamcast to it you should get a Toro as the Mini lacks VGA inpus.

Nice seeing all the fellow gamers on here. I have a pretty decent collection, around 500 games or so with the odd rarities and repro carts mixed in, my favorite repro being StarFox 2 for SNES. Lately I've been thinking about selling off some of my collection, I realized I have a lot of games I don't care for or games I just don't play much anymore. I'm at work with no pictures, but the systems I do have are:

Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Atari Jaguar, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii Wii U, all the nintendo handhelds, a mint, complete in box Virtual Box(one of the best items in my collection), SMS, Genesis, Sega Cd, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast, GameGear, PS1,PS2, Xbox, special Crystal Xbox, Xbox One(for some stupid reason) Neo Geo, 2 Neo Geo Pocket Colors, Neo Geo X, TurboGrax-16 and I'm probably forgetting something. That's it for the most part, don't want this post to be too long.

The Virtual Boy is a nice piece of console. Probably the one by Nintendo I like the most. Kind of regret I sold mine.
