does anyone know a website which is somehow like the lddb but for the VHS format ?
I mean I must admit I still buy some VHS tapes if I can get them cheap as the sound quality can be pretty good ( Hi-Fi Stereo is better than DD 2.0 in my opinion ) and there are some very interesting releases for this format. Plus the tapes I have still look pretty much the same after many years so original tapes seem to last for a longer period it seems. http://vhscollector.com/ This is the closest you'll get to a VHS database. They seem to be missing a lot of releases (as expected for a format with so much stuff on it), though.

I have seen that site before. A site like lddb.com would be wonderful for other formats, too I like discogs for CDs and Vinyl but they are very strict about submitting new titles. Everything has to be perfect. It is really annoying.
