I'm just making conversation and I guess its been asked or answered before? Is there any tracks on LP that are on the LD as well mentioned CD. I'm not a fan of the rock group, I'm just curious as this "LOUDNESS WAR" nonsense gets under my skin. There is a invention called VOLUME control  on our amplifiers in case the recoding studios have forgotten about?

Im not sure I understand what you mean. Even if its on ld its not sure its from the same master. For example both live after death was released before cd time (1985). So that was only released on VHS and LP. Later on it was also released on CD in the 80s. Live at Donington is prob. the only one that got released on CD, LP, LD, VHS at the same time.

Otherwise the video collections are all from music videos and I guess none of them got the same mixes as in the CD or vinyl releases. btw, why didnt they released the raising hell concert on vinyl or cd ?

I think what he means is, are there LDs with mastering done in the old fashioned way, but with the nearly noiseless sound of LD?

My guess is no. They probably just use the sound from tapes mastered for broadcast, which usually means very dynamically compressed in order to sound good on mono TVs from the 80s.

It would be cool if someone could compare two versions of the same song though, one from LD and one from CD.

So I ordered all LP Albums and all 7" single re-issues for Iron Maiden from AMAZON.

So far the LP delivery has been splendid, with a special LP-sized (that will be great to recycle/enhance for LD shipping) box that does a beautiful job.

But for the 7" it's hit and miss. Got first 4 well packed then one in an over-sized bubble-wrap envelop that was thankfully untouched.

For Sanctuary (1st copy), same bubble-wrap envelop but this time the cover was bent, disc maybe damaged.
=> Shipped back for refund, ordered another copy

Sanctuary (2nd copy) arrived today in a rectangle box too small to hold a 7" disc, an indeed the disc was pushed/forced to fit in, splitting the sides as it went.
But the worst is that they put the tracking/shipping stickers on the disc itself! Never seen Amazon doing this ever in years.

"Collector's item" becomes a pawned 2nd hand lousy copy. Sending it back again for refund, ordering copy #3... :-(

Ever had issues like this with Amazon?

Julien

But its in shrinkwrap, right ? Then a sticker on there isnt the world, even if its annoying. I hate shrinkwrap, leave it sealed and it will ruin the record, open it and its not sealed anymore.

I am amazed that they sell records without proper boxes.

I was very, very close to hit the "purchase" button on this one after I could locate the corresponding flight case for future relocation.

But just a few days later Technics announced they would reboot the turntable business with an upgraded version of the SL1200 to be released in Q1/2016.

I'm now waiting to see what this baby will have to offer before biting the Pioneer bullet!
And also because the PLX-1000 is sold out in Singapore for now...

PS: Just received my Iron Maiden's "Book of Souls" triple LP :-)

Wow. I did not expect that.

Honestly, I'd be happier if they just started making spares again. Some of those 1200 bearings are starting to growl. :(
