Nice list of games you got! I'd imagine the KOF games were not cheap. Must look nice all lined up in the shelf!

thanks samaron!
The KOF Games are generally the most expensive games in my NEO GEO AES collection, at the moment.

My fave was the huge old style arcade controller, but the CD Controller Pro was nice as well.

!! Missed this. How much did it set you back? EDIT: Oh MVS version? I thought you were a straight up AES collector?

Also, what are your thoughts on converted MVS carts for AES? Or straight bootlegs?

I've recently started thinking about finally adding a few non-fighting (shooting and driving) games to my small collection and it seems the originals are now becoming out of reach price wise. I could do up to $800 for an original cart but nothing original except for the ubiquitos fighters seem to go for less than that.

One exception is NAM 1975 which I plan to buy within the year. Everyone here seems to have it except me..

In january this year i realized that it makes no sense for me to continue to buy games for the AES.
Everyone knows games like Metal Slug X are "very" expensive, these prices are beyond good and evil!
The AES/MVS games are identical from the chips, so I think that it makes more sense to buy a Consolized MVS.
I own two OMEGA Entertainment Machine from Arcade Works and i'm very happy.
In terms of gaming this was the best decision for me.

The OMEGA Entertainment Machine is Brilliant!

I owned an MVS and was great as I could make money off of it and own some super rare games.

Something like Nam75 was a super cheap game and nobody could get rid of it, I think I bought mine for 15 bucks and overpaid.
So why would you get the home unit when you can get the real arcade unit very cheap.
1,2,4 or 6 slots and they aren't that expensive.
Metal Slug X was a great game and I think it was around 100 or so, but the prices were about 5 years ago and I don't know what current prices are but I'm sure they are still cheaper as they were then too.

And its just like a home unit, you turn the power off pull the cartridge and put the new one in and power.

i was only ever able to get around to acquiring five titles for my AES before "Values" on just about every other title i was ever remotely interested in
began to hit full Impulse Power straight for Pluto.

oh well, at least i was able to get some of the very core AES essentials. even so, i cannot truly enjoy either of "Nakoruru's Games"
since either of them, in their standard MVS difficulty level, are just WAY TOO DAMNED HARD for me to ever get very far on;

AES somewhat crudely modded (by me personally) for STEREO output direct from HEADPHONE OUT to back-panel captive RCAs.
Also, front-panel-mounted POWER LED;

Well if Kingpin is selling off his collection now is the time to get some cash together and get a Neo Geo collection.

I came within 350 points of the world record score for Samurai Shodown II at The Galloping Ghost Arcade. It's my favorite 2D fighting game of all time, so I was a little pissed not to get it!!

Tasuke - that's a respectable collection. :cool:

I think I want a "pure" AES experience. Pure as in it's just AES carts with a single game on them being used that were actually available on AES. Not any MVS converts but at this point if I ever want to play some games this way, even with mad inheretence, it's going to have to be MVS converts to AES that were availalbe on AES. Even reprodoctions with new chips, if the packaging and cart are done well enough or from donor packaging/carts then I'll live with it too.

Being a Neo AES complete purist these days requires millionaire status realistically or complete dedication and no other hobbies.
