We are clearing finally some boxes that have moved house with us a number of times then stored & never opened, time for a serious clear-out now.

Found some paperwork from back in the day regarding what were then future cinema feature productions/releases & an item from May or June 1976 which included the following.....

Projects confirmed
STAR WARS (working title)
Studio- 20th Century-Fox
With confidence high and the current boom in science fiction films and television series 20th Century-Fox are backing the previously announced ADVENTURES OF STAR KILLER:THE ADVENTURES OF STARKILLER (previous working titles) at an initial projected budget of $7,000,000 TPC (total production cost) with Gary Kurtz and George Lucas.
The film will have Alec Guinness now confirmed in a key role.
Initial location filming in Tunisia has now started on STAR WARS (working title) with preparations now under way for studio filming which is due to begin soon at EMI Elstree England.
Luke Starkiller armed with laser swords and laser guns with his human and alien friends fight numerous enemies, villains and creatures as they battle in a Galactic Civil War. The story could take place anywhere in the Universe and the time could be the past, the present or the future.
MTF (more to follow)

This STAR WARS feature film project was listed among lots of others that got no further than an early pre-production announcement, about 8 out of 10 of the "projects confirmed" announced were never heard of again but does anyone know if this one did anything? Think it may have got a laserdisc release.

Might still have that & if I come across it soon will do.

Likely to have been a bit from CinemaTV Today though the name may have changed to Screen International by 1976. Perhaps an update supplement from another trade publication but it was among bits & bobs moved from a cinema in the mid 1980s, most of that type of stuff was binned so nice to see some of it now.

Cheers.
