congrats on the new retro blogg, I hope you add lots of info about obsolete technology when you update your website. I still love the VHS/S-VHS format. In Japan I know there were some very special Panasonic NV-V10000 digital video machines. I bet they cost a fortune when new!? Were they sold in europe http://www.ebay.de/itm/Panasonic-NV-V10 ... Thank you for your comment ! NV-V10000 Is not so expensive in Japan I think. For exemple you have an auction here : https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k274796672I am not specialist in VHS, but I possess a Mitsubishi HV-V920MN, a good model also for LDs because it has a good 3D combo filter and also a Muse Down converter.

I often look for S-vhs players on eBay. I have never in my life before seen a player with analogue VU meters. This Panasonic was really cool, maybe not an expensive model but still looking cool! http://www.ebay.com/itm/PANASONIC-NV-FS ... SwYX5Zw-LtBack in the days there must have been very cool machines sold in the US and Japan. European models were not so cool compared to Japan/US market machines.

I think european electronic market was much more expensive with high price tags, many people didn't have much money couldn't afford to buy the high end players. Therefore we only had lesser machines (but still very expensive to buy back in it's days!) where the big market was USA and Japan to get the more luxury machines
