My collection is 855 titles. I am at only about 6% of his posted collection. I have a long way to go.

My collection is recorded on VHS, VCD, CED, LD, DVD, HD-DVD, 2D-BD and UHD formats. I don't have any Beta tapes as I do not have a machine for them (as least not yret).

Still up on eBay, eh? I have seen this listing pop up on various places for at least a year now. Should help kickstart a nice movie collection if someone grabs this bargain lot. Just below $60 per title!

Does anyone here have a larger collection than this? I certainly don't but maybe laserdisc_fan? To me 17,000 just doesn't seem that big at all.

Between my DVDs and LDs I am probably very close to 17k* (somewhere on either side of it if the truth be known) - stopped counting long ago though.

Some one wants to give me say 800k and they can have them all. ^___^

Certainly doesn't take up as much space as one might think if you plan your shelves out right.

Also depends to a bit on how they are counting titles - you get a few of those large Mill Creek (or other similar companies) sets and that can add to your count fairly significantly.

*And that is not counting my massive CED collection - 15 or so. ^___^

The number of titles doesn’t impress me a bit. I choose not to have thousands of discs and the reason is not space. I have a collection of a few thousand titles and I am pretty sure my collection is worth (in a realistic estimate) more than his.

You can easily start hoarding craiglist lots and end up with 20k discs in a couple of years with spending only a few thousand dollars. His majority of collection is DVDs, those are sold by the pound nowadays.
