The Spam e-mailers have developed a new Spam twist. I just received an e-mail from Hotels.com. I pulled the message up and went to the bottom of the e-mail to find the Unsubscribe link. I clicked on it and got another web page describing how I can sign up for their Rewards program. I navigated to the bottom of the web page and did not find any Unsubscribe link. Absolutely, nothing. It looks like the Spammers are now trying to get the receiver to navigate through multiple web pages in order to find an Unsubscribe link if there is even one.

What is to stop them from forcing you to go through 3, 5 or 10 web pages just to Unsubscribe? They have now reached a new low IMO.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.
There are some emails I get that I have no idea how they found me, so I just delete them rather than take the risk of getting hacked by unsubscribing to them.

I always get a laugh out of the phishing e-mails from "paypal" or whatever with a sender e-mail that is really obviously not legit :D

Honestly tho, I wouldn't bother with those "unsubscribe" links at all. They're probably just the means of confirming there's a real person at the receiving end - so they can send you even more spam. I'd just spam filter the whole lot of it if I were you.

I have not had any problem with unsubscribing at least not yet. Most of the spammers honor my request. I get maybe 3 or 4 spams a week so the unsubscribe is working for me. I would love to be able to just empty the spam folder when there is e-mail in it. However, I still get an occasional e-mail that I want; but, has been directed into my spam folder.
