Coast to Coast was just never the same when he left in 2007.

He was never on in any of my markets but even in where I was he was famous. I assume I learned of him first through the Dead Milkmen or Wierd Al or something like that.

I only heard a small portion of his shows because of the time slot he was in.

What always impressed me was how kept his composure and treated his interviewees courteously even when they were just wackadoodles. I can't think of anyone quite like him in the entertainment industry.

You are welcome.

I think my favorite of the ones I heard was when he was interviewing the guy who launched himself in the air with a lot of helium filled balloons (he had a bb gun so he could shoot the balloons in order to lower his altitude) tied to a lawnchair. There were also audio recordings (on the show) of the pilot (if that is the right word to use) talking to his ground crew (i.e. his wife) who was frantically trying to track him in their car.

Great stuff.
