Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to ask but this does seem like a miscellaneous question, which has probably too much background. I'm planning out a project right now that involves a fictional late-80s anime OVA, and I'd like to make some fake photos of this fake anime, including a fake Laserdisc jacket (and possibly a fake VHS tape?). My two questions for you guys are these: - According to my only source (Kenny Lauderdale on YouTube), LD was pretty popular in Japan, and a strong competitor to VHS. Is that true?
- If that is true, and if I were to get a 12-inch or 10-inch vinyl record with a sleeve, do you think it's possible I could fake the outside of it well enough for it to pass as LD? My experience is they're about the same size, and as long as the vinyl doesn't show it should be fine. I think.
I am not sure I can pull it off with photo manipulation; plus it sounds kind of fun to try to do physically: pasting a cover carefully on a mostly-white album cover, using filters to make the image believably grainy, etc. I just don't know whether it's worth it to try if the size of the album itself will be a dead giveaway. Any help is much appreciated; thank you!

I'm pretty sure I know where I can get a cheap, used LP from a physical store, which means no waiting for the mail to come. Even though I'm in a big city I'm not sure I could say the same for a laserdisc Also, my impression was that LDs were kind of expensive, but after seeing some of the prices on the main site I'm almost tempted to order one, even though I have no way of playing it. Thanks so much!
