Good afternoon!

First time here. And first LD player! I hope the techies will be able to provide me some help.

Player looks great. But every now and then it refuses to play side A unless i eject and then hit A again. OR it plays side B then it plays side A.

After the initial spaz it works fine.

Any ideas?

Any info i would love to hear!

I'm no tech but it sounds like the rubber grip ring/pad need to be replaced or cleaned as the disc is slipping.
Do a search here to find out the part number and order one or clean it and hope for the best.

Hmmm

Ok. I guess i will pull the top off.

It makes a weird sound then spits it out. Then its fine.

I tried doing a search on rubber pad. Didnt bring anything up. Am i being an idiot?

Don't answer that!

Thank you

LOL don't know.
Check grip ring, sorry I forgot that name also.
If you hear it spinning out it sounds like that.
Good luck.

A 504 does not have the grip ring issue, you probably have a load belt issue. When loading the disc as the mechanism rises just grab it when it makes the noise and see if that completes the load. If that is not the issue then you have the laser motor holder issue.

Thanks for correcting me on that
I just assumed that all the 50X players had that issue, I have a 503 and it had that issue.

501/502 were 2090 v2/v3, 503 was 703-lite (no fancy NR chip etc), and 504/5/6 are the late player design. The 504 is the first version, some parts were changed slightly afterwards.

Load belt's an easier thing to source at least.
