Yesterday I gave a disc a play (Bubblegum Crisis vol.1). Side 1 played extremely loud for the first 10 minutes, lots of vibration coming from the player, then it quieted down. Side 2 refused to play. It spun up really loud then made an F5 error on my R7G.

Is this probably warping?

I could try flattening it with some weights. Has anyone had that work for them?

It's part of a box set. I guess I will see if I could pick up another copy of only that disc. The other discs were fine.

Thanks!

It sounds more like the disc is out of round, which is pretty uncommon for Pioneer discs. If you hold the disc on two fingers and give it a spin does it have a visible warp?

I've seen some players that are slightly out of alignment when they center for "B" side play. Have you tried playing side 2 with the player in "A" mode?

Turns out the central part of the disc became unglued a bit. Can put a fingernail between the two layers. Guess I'll try to find a replacement disc.
